2021 Call for Residency Projects is Open !

After a year marked by a major renovation project of its main building and by strict health regulations due to the ongoing pandemic, D’Arts et de rêves will reopen its facilities this summer to welcome artists from the communities of visual arts, literary arts, and contemporary circus arts. The call invites artisans from these communities to present their approaches and projects for residencies lasting from two (2) to six (6) weeks. An independent jury made up of professionals from each discipline will select the projects and artists.

New this year, D’Arts et de rêves will offer grants in an open competition for all professional artists who wish to present a three-week project and obtain a fee of $1,500 in addition to free accommodation and access to a studio. One grant per discipline will be awarded, also by an independent jury.

D’Arts et de rêves welcomes a large proportion of Quebec and Canadian artists as well as many creators from all over the world. With its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, the residence is distinguished by its bucolic environment, on a magnificent site in the village of Sutton. The artists in residence have the opportunity to be accompanied in the production of events to which the local population is invited. These cultural mediation activities are at the heart of the mission of D’Arts et de rêves, which aims to promote the work of artists during their time of residency in Sutton.

Artists who wish to go into residence between July and December 2021 are invited to respond to the call for projects before March 31st. The call for projects and the forms can be found in the Residence menu of our web site : https://dartsetdereves.org/old/en/application-for-residence/

A major renovation project will be completed this spring, prior to our scheduled reopening in July 2021. This renovation, with a budget of $936,000, to which will be added the costs of various specialized equipment, will allow D’Arts et de rêves to welcome more artists in residence in an exceptional location.
