I am very pleased to inform you that D'Arts et de rêves has recently hired Pierre Lefrançois as our new general coordinator; many of you might already know him. Pierre took over this position on June 13, 2022 and will be working 20 hours per week. The organization has chosen to split the usual general coordination role into two, which means that we are currently looking for someone to take on the role of coordinating our artistic activities for another 20 hours per week.

Pierre describes himself as having a 'mixed background'. He followed an educational path in teaching before also being trained in horticulture and botany. Professionally, he has been a teacher, an educator and director of a special education centre for teenagers, and a horticulturist for the city of Montreal and also in the private sector. In addition, he has worked, and continues to work, in the publishing industry as a researcher, editor, production manager or scientific journalist, as well as a publisher and manager.

Self-employed since the 1980s, Pierre has founded and managed several businesses in the fields of education, culture, and communications. He has been living in the Brome-Missisquoi MRC for 24 years and is well acquainted with the ins and outs of working remotely. For the past 11 years, he has been editor-in-chief of the community newspaper Le Saint-Armand, of which he is also president of the board. He is therefore relatively familiar with the financial support programs of the ministère de la Culture et des Communications, as well as being accustomed to working in a team, in a community setting.

“I'm not very young anymore," says he, "but I think I'm healthy enough to contribute to the sustainability of this beautiful organization that combines creation, dreams and community. Long live DAR!”
