Vernissage on July 21 with Zoné vert and Paulette Vanier
We have two new art projects in the park and we invite you to come and see them on July 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. during a vernissage with the artists.
Art is part of nature with the duo Zoné Vert
Christine Juillard and Michel Bachelet, also known as the Zoné Vert duo, will be in residence from June 30 to July 14 to install their artistic project in the park.
It’s thanks to a grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec (CALQ) that we were able to invite these two artists to create land art. The park installation consists of five "sculpture tanks", of different shapes and volumes, set around and inside the wetland. These tanks, made of Corten steel, will put on a pedestal threatened or unknown wetland species. The shape and the contents of the bins vary to match the morphology of the ground.
The Willow Cocoon is in the park!
Do you remember Papillons à la carte, our November 2017 social fundraising campaign? We were selling Christmas cards made by two artists from the region, each packet of cards containing an envelope of milkweed seeds. This campaign helped us achieve our financial goal and we were able to realize the wished upon project: an observation cocoon made of willows!
A dynamic team of volunteers joined Paulette Vanier, landscape artist at the Jardins de Cybèle, for a few work sessions in order to make the cocoon a reality. On July 21st, you will see how well the cocoon is growing as well as meet Paulette Vanier, the project leader.
