André Fournelle returns to Sutton
By Suzanne Pressé
Marquer le territoire, an exhibition of works by André Fournelle, will be held from March 31 to April 24 at Arts Sutton.
André Fournelle is a multidisciplinary artist known for his sculptures, performances, and installations in art galleries but especially in situ in the environment and with nature.
Curated by Suzanne Pressé, this exhibition presents the artist's vision of societal issues through his sculptures made with raw or natural materials such as coal and pure pigments. The artist also works with the four elements of nature: water, fire, air, and earth.
In 2021 the artist spent three weeks in residence to install his sculpture L'interdit damoclèse in the DAR Cultural Park, which was unveiled at the inauguration of the new Sutton DAR Studios. The work can be seen at any time at the Parc culturel DAR, 57, rue Principale Nord, Sutton.
